Is it just us or did it feel like Wednesday took forever to get here? Thank Beyonce it is finally Hump Day and we can celebrate at Shoolbred’s in the East Village.

One of our favorite things about Shooldbred’s is the fact that they use fresh fruit juice in their cocktails and prove it to you by extracting the juice right in front of you. Both of our cocktails this week feature this fresh grapefruit juice.

If you’re willing to get your Martha Stewart on and bust out your juicer, you can whip up your own Greyhound by mixing grapefruit juice and whatever amount of vodka you deem necessary to get through the rest of the week.

Because we can never pass up a margarita when offered, we also had Bob’s Cayenne Margarita which has more fresh grapefruit juice, tequila blanco, triple sec and cayenne.

Shooldbred’s has a Scottish theme that we were trying to figure out. As you can see, we kind of got stuck at the mirrors.

We were in the mood for a vacation on this lovely Hump Day and decided to make a stop at Kingston Hall for some tropical R&R.

Kingston Hall brings a sixties-Jamaica vibe to the East Village along with delcious cocktails using fresh fruits and juices. If you make the trip, it is imperative that your order our favorite drink: the Drunken Coconut.

Yes, that is an actual coconut our cocktail is floating sitting in. With Appleton Gold Rum, Malibu, fresh coconut water (duh) and pineapple juice, the Drunken Coconut is easily one of our favorite Hump Day treats and definitely the most original cocktail we’ve had in awhile. Sip on this and pretend you’re lounging on the beach or in your bed watching a Real Housewives marathon–we all have our version of paradise.

When you visit Kingston Hall make sure to take time to wander through the different rooms which are full of interesting patterns and details that really capture the island theme.

A trip to Jamaica (kinda) obviously requires a serving of rum punch. Kingston Hall puts a spin on this classic with Appleton Light Rum, Malibu and fresh orange and pineapple juice.

Shir made a new friend and we found one of our new favorite spots in the neighborhood. AND, they even have happy hour! Everything is perfect.

Happy Hump Day! Can you guys feel/smell/taste that? It’s spring heading towards us and along with it, warm weather and the lovely pastime of outside drinking. If that doesn’t put you in the mood for happy hour we don’t know what to tell you. Mother Nature gave us an amazing day in New York yesterday so we’d like to indulge you with something equally sweet (WINK WINK WINK) with some candied-up booze.

Yes, wine ice cream is a thing because someone somewhere loves us deeply. Mercer’s Wine Ice Cream is exactly what you think it is, only better. What could possibly be better than Red Raspberry Chardonnay ice cream? No seriously, what could be better than that? Maybe the Cherry Merlot is more your style? Either way, wine ice cream is everyone’s style.

If you really want to make your sweet tooth as happy as your Hump Day, pop a bottle of ChocVio–a blend of Dutch dark chocolate and red wine. If you’re fancy and talented in the kitchen (AKA not us) you can even use ChocoVino to make some delicious sweet cocktails.

Another week, another Hump Day and more importantly, another Hump Day cocktail. If Cheers taught us anything (or at least what we’ve heard) sometimes, it’s nice to relax at a place that’s warm and familiar. The Tippler is one of our favorite places to grab a drink and is a great option if you’re looking to avoid a little bit of the Meatpacking District insanity.

Step down into the basement of Chelsea Market… perhaps read a book or two. (Haha jk jk it’s Hump Day–just have a drink.)

We were so lucky to partake in the Long-Eared Galoot which contains bourbon, cinnamon, strawberry, lemon and cayenne–a combination that confused us a bit at first but proved to be really delicious and refreshing.

The Tippler also features a daily lushie–a frozen blended cocktail. We got a little dangerous with a mint Absinthe lushie.

Frozen drinks remind us that summer is riiiight around the corner and there’s no Hump Day like a summertime Hump Day.
